Adam Carolla is bringing his crass humor back to the Phoenix airwaves. The Comedy Central and MTV personality will anchor the morning drive shift for KEDJ-FM 103.9 starting May 5.
His new employers couldn’t be happier.
“We are all excited to bring Adam back to Phoenix. It is our belief that he is the piece of the puzzle required to take The Edge to the next level, despite his performance on ‘Dancing With The Stars,’” said Bruce St. James, KEDJ’s program director.

Now this is very interesting since my favorite radio personality Chuck Powell hosts the Morning Ritual. Does this mean he is no longer employed for the edge? If so I want to know where he went so I can listen to him. Now I know Adam Carolla has a large fan base but I really think Chuck made the morning show his own. If you’re gone chuck, I’ll miss you, we will all miss you.
Update 2: It’s official Chuck Powell is no longer on the Edge 103.9. At 8:00am today he said his goodbyes. I don’t think I can listen to the edge anymore.

I sent an e-mail to the Program Director politely expressing my dissatisfaction.
Chuck and Colin were the only good thing The Edge had going for it, IMO.
I’m sure they’ll land on their feet somewhere – I just hope I don’t have to buy satellite radio to hear them.
Now I just play CDs on my way into work very morning.

I am definitely not listening to the edge any more!!! The morning ritural is how I began every day belfore work!! Hopefully they will find a new station SOON!!!!

I sent an email to Bruce St. James and the response I got was nothing short of rude, condescending, and belittling. I was determined to boycott The Edge since their firing of Chuck Powell. Now, after the way I was treated by their esteemed program director, I will steer clear of The Edge for the rest of it’s days and pray for it’s quick, yet painful, demise.

This is sad news. Chuck Powell is the only local morning person I’ve ever listened to who didn’t make me think “this guy is an idiotic bozo.” He brought intelligence and wit to a morning program, which is all-too rare.
Adam Carolla I found only occasionally amusing (like when he hung up on Ann Coulter) and often idiotic, a poor imitation of Howard Stern.
I’ve also noted of late that the EDGE has started running ads for fraudulent products again, like Latavi breast enhancement cream, so they must really be hurting.

I also have stopped listening to the edge. Chuck was AWESOME. I can’t stand Adam. He flat out sucks. Bruce St James is an asshole for doing this. I know I am sure it was strictly business but think about it. Adam failed in PHX twice already with bigger stations. It was a stupid business decision considering he will probably be taken off the air with in a years time
