Pownce releases API finally. So what?

It seems that Pownce has released their long awaited API. Good Job guys, too bad no one cares anymore. Alexa has shown a very dramatic decrease in pownce’s traffic and for me it’s not a surprise. I’m not going to deny the fact that I though pownce was a great tool at the beginning, specifically for inner-office file sharing, but the AIR client was very buggy from the get go. I guess It was just riding the “Kevin Rose” wave and came up short.

Now Rose my be hoping for a win with releasing the API but they have done, in my opinion, a poor job at best with it. It has been 3 long months since the API was announced and I find it lacking. Right now it’s an over glorified rss feed for user’s pownce profiles. Very unimpressive documentation to boot. It is so feature deprived I wonder why it took 3 months to come up with it. Now I may be wrong, but I just don’t see why any third party developer would try and revive the near dead pownce. Call me in another 3 months when there is something useful. Hopefully it won’t be too late for pownce.
